INCE Capital Portfolio Company Wefly Successfully Test Flies Its New eVTOL Aircraft
2025.07.15

INCE Capital portfolio company Wefly's independently developed 2-tonne full-size 5-seat manned eVTOL model W280 successfully completed its maiden flight on 14 July. This marks the global debut of the first eVTOL specifically designed for megacity clusters entering the flight test verification phase. Additionally, the project achieved the first flight within just over a month from final assembly, setting a new record for engineering efficiency in the eVTOL aircraft sector.

Behind the successful maiden flight lies the Wefly team's core capabilities and comprehensive control over engineering projects, particularly their ability to independently develop flight control systems for manned aircraft from scratch. This maiden flight successfully validated Wefly's three core capabilities: the ability to independently develop and integrate highly integrated flight systems with aerodynamics, flight control, avionics, and electric propulsion; aviation engineering efficiency and safety culture; and experience in developing large manned aircraft and large systems.

As a three-dimensional transportation solution designed specifically for world-class urban agglomerations, the W280 seamlessly connects city CBDs and transportation hubs with a maximum take-off weight of 2.8 tonnes, a maximum range of 280 km, a maximum speed of 280 km/h, and noise control below 50 decibels.
